Privacy Policy

Account information. When you create a shop, we collect your email and name through our authentication provider. You can also sign up with your Google account, in which case your name and public profile picture may prefill your myshop.au profile.

Your shop and product content. We store the content you add to build your storefront — your shop name and handle, product listings, descriptions, prices, images, collections, and store settings. This is what we host and display so your customers can shop with you.

Your customers' data.When someone buys from a shop built on myshop.au, we process order and customer details on the merchant's behalf — such as the shopper's name, shipping and contact details, and order history. For this data the merchant is the controller and myshop.au acts as a processor (see our GDPR & Data Rights page).

Payment information. Payments are handled by our third-party payment processor. We receive confirmation and limited transaction details (such as amount, status, and the last four digits of a card) but we do not store full card numbers.

Usage data. We collect basic, largely anonymized information about how the service is used so we can keep it reliable and improve it over time.

We use the information we collect to:

• Create, host, and display your shop, storefront, and product listings;
• Process orders and payments and help you manage sales, customers, and fulfilment;
• Provide the features you request — templates, analytics, sharing, and exports;
• Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the myshop.au service.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share personally identifying information publicly or with third parties, except with the service providers below who help us operate myshop.au, or when required by law.

To run the service, we rely on trusted providers who process data on our behalf: our payment processor to take payments and pay out merchants, a hosted authentication provider to manage sign-in, email and notification providers to send order and account messages, and standard hosting and infrastructure providers to run the platform. These providers process data under their own terms and applicable data-protection commitments. See our GDPR & Data Rights page for details on legal bases, transfers, and your rights.

Your shop is designed to be seen. The content you publish — your shop name, products, images, prices, and descriptions — is publicly visible to anyone who visits your storefront at your myshop.au handle. You control what you publish and can unpublish or edit it from your dashboard.

We only retain collected information for as long as necessary to provide you with the service you requested and for the legitimate purposes described above, including keeping order records that you or the law may require. What data we store, we protect within commercially acceptable means to prevent loss, theft, and unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification.

We act as a data controller for your merchant account and as a data processor for the shopper data handled through your store, in line with applicable data-protection laws, including the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Australian Privacy Act. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you are free to decline our request for personal information — with the understanding that we may be unable to provide some services as a result. We use secure, httpOnly cookies to keep you signed in and to keep a shopper's cart working during checkout. These are necessary for the service to function and are not used for third-party advertising.

Our website and merchant storefronts may link to external sites that are not operated by us. We have no control over the content and practices of these sites and cannot accept responsibility for their respective privacy policies.
